July Currently

Good Golly Miss Molly! Is it really July already?!?!

My own kids just finished school on June 14. Michigan schools are not allowed to start until the Tuesday after Labor Day (state law to increase travel and tourism over Labor Day weekend). Our Target already has their back to school aisle set up. That's wrong. Just sayin'. I'm thinking about writing an email...maybe something like this?

 Dear Target,
I love you! I am faithful customer. However, I think you should let us have our summer. It's not time for school supplies in Michigan yet. How about a sale on cute glasses for frozen fruity drinks?
A Concerned Customer,
Kimberly

Ok...maybe not.

Now, on to the good stuff. I look forward to Farley's (Oh' Boy 4th Grade) Currently linky each month! It's so much fun to read about what everyone is doing, right after I enjoy the hilarious post by Farley herself.

Here is what I'm doing currently.
Now head on over and check out Farley's post and the other links.

Don't forget...

  1. YES! I'll join your campaign :) I was at Target this morning (Detroit metro area) and they were setting up the school supplies. I was with my kids and they both said LOUDLY "Seriously? It's not even 4th of July, people!" I gave them "the look" but was laughing on the inside :)

  2. I love your "letter" to Target! It made me laugh. But seriously, even with school starting mid-August here, it's too early!

    Enjoy your camping trip!

  5. I've got to check out that read aloud.
15 Days of Camping - WOW. Impressive!!! I think I could only do a weekend . . . unless you're in a cabin. With running water and electricity and air conditioning. :)

  6. If...such a cool book.
15 days of camping! Wow... that's exciting. I'm with Teeny, Tiny Kristen... cabin, running water and electricity would be best. :D
I agree about the early school supplies... and early Christmas stuff, too. I don't want to think about Christmas in October... so stressful! Don't these stores realize the anxiety they cause?! :D

  9. 15 days of camping?! Lordy! I was just going to say the same thing Rachelle did. I was at Hobby Lobby today and all of their Christmas stuff is being put out. WHAT?! I'm pretty sure if I worked there I would slit my wrists!
