Currently a Mess

Ummmm... a few days ago I posted the pictures of our newly remodeled (on a 2 teacher budget) kitchen. This morning, we woke up to a flooded kitchen and Niagra Falls flowing through the hard wood floors and the heat vents into the basement. You know that tiny little tube for the water that connects to the back of your fridge to give you water/ice in the door. Apparently, ours disconnected at some point during the night. There was at least 3 inches on the basement floor and everything on the lovely storage shelves that my husband built is soaked. The wood floor under our kitchen table is squishy. Oh my... trying not to cry (again) as I sit here waiting for the insurance clean up guy to get here to assess the damage.

I didn't want my currently to be filled with negativity, because I know it "could be worse". Tomorrow, when I'm not so upset, my husband and I will try to find the blessings within this challenge (that's what we always do).

So, here is my currently and I can't wait to be distracted by all of your currently posts.
Head over to visit Farley (Oh Boy 4th Grade) to read about what is going on with everyone. Thank you, Farley!

I couldn't link up with the mustache party...because mustaches freak me out. I guess I'm so busy hoping that I don't get one that I can't even imagine liking them. Maybe I'm a party pooper...or maybe I'm not the only one freaked out by mustaches?

  1. I hope your house gets better soon. :(

I too am weirded out by mustaches. I'm glad that my generation of 20-something men mostly go without the mustache, yuck!

  2. OK...
    1. I am so sorry to hear about your kitchen/basement... that is never fun to deal with and I hope that things get better!
    2. I love shopping by myself. I can get so much more done in much less time and I spend less money with my husband not with me!
    3. I also don't like mustaches too much. I must be missing something with the fad right now because I don't really get it! (sorry for all of you mustache lovers!)

  4. I am so sorry to hear your water woes! This is the second incident I've heard of this week that the fridge water line busts. Our neighbors came home from their week long vacation, opened their front door and the water came rushing out!
I think you should buy yourself a little something when you go shopping by yourself to make you smile.

  7. Oh my goodness this exact thing happened to us 2 summers ago. They came in and blew giant fans for a week then cut away the bottom of our walls and baseboards. Took rugs to be cleaned and the amazing part is that insurance gave us so much more than we imagined. It was a blessing in the end. I pray it will be for you as well.

    1. Oh dear, Kimberly! I'm so sorry :( The same thing happened to us last spring and our situation was very similar to Reagan's. Our basement looked like a disaster zone. They hooked up a million tubes to giant fans and fed them through our walls to dry everything out... now, you would never know that we had a flood. The basement cleaning team and insurance agency were SO helpful. I hope everything goes well for you guys. Hang in there!!

  12. Love your blog. I am totally a new follower. I love that you put Mr. Sketch markers. I broke down and got those for the year. I think they are really great for filling in color on a picture, but then they just also have some fun smells!
